I chose When Your Gone by Avril Lavigne , Pressure by Paramore, Something I Can Never Have and All Around Me both by Flyleaf, and Untouched by The Veronicas. Those are really good songs and they would fit in my opinion.... Anyone think so? I'm listening to Never Let This Go by Paramore I think i'll enter that too.

how about Save Me by Remo Zero? the lyrics aren't exactly PERFECT, but i think the mood of the song is. no doubt. for anyone who's never heard it, it's the smallville opening song. classic.

I submitted "Broken" by Lifehouse, and "My Immortal" by Evanescence. I have always thought those two songs really explain what Bella is going through, and her pain. I still have to find a third song for the rest of the book, or for the part in Volterra.

random, not to edgy song, but the lyrics somewhat go, and the instrumental part when it goes all loud is when I see bella jumping off the cliff or racing against time to saveedward

I did a somehwat obvious but great song. Comatose by Skillett. When you read the lyrics its almost telling the story of New Moon

I picked Bring Me To Life by Evanescence and If You're Gone by Matchbox Twenty.
I feel as if most of the book is centered around Bella's pain, and these songs show that perfectly.

Linkin Park or Screamo is good for the scene where Edward leaves and it begins to rain etc. Well, basically after he leaves and she's trudging through the forest part. But I chose "Won't go home without you" by Maroon 5.

The song "Love Remains the Same" by Gavin Rossdale? I think it fits perfectly for New Moon. I can see it playing out as a movie in my head....

**That's talking about Edward's pain in leaving to protect Bella and how he says he's "done pretending he can be 'normal'" even though he's still completely in love with her and just saying that to save her--which is a big mistake.....**

That is my assessment. And no matter what anyone says, whenever I hear it, that's what I think of. But what do you think?

This book is hard for me to come up with songs for. Eclipse is so much easier. But That's What You Get fits with Bella and Jacob both. Blackout is for when Edward leaves Bella in the woods. My Immortal just seems to fit the mood. Idk. Aim, Snap Fall fits with Bella I think. Alexithymia fits really well with Bella's zombie state. She just doesn't want to get up and live, but she knows that she's not living at all. "With down cast eyes, there's more to living than being alive..." is the main line in Alexithymia, and that fits so well with Bella. Sadly, I can't really think of anything that fits with Jacob for New Moon...but when Eclipse roles around, I will definitely have some!

and...."Time is Standing Still" by The All-American Rejects is great too......

Ohh and "Cut" by Plumb.

I submitted "The Mixed Tape," by Jack's Mannequin, and "Slipped Away," by Avril Lavigne. "The Mixed Tape," is like an extended metaphor for how Bella feels after Edward leaves. "Slipped Away" is just perfect, and captures that whole feeling of losing someone you really love, and not seeing it coming.

I think Katy Perry's song Thinking of You is the perfect song for NM. It was already used as a chapter song. Read the lyrics and you'll see how fitting this song is for this book; it covers Bella, Edward, and Jacob.

There's something about "My Immortal" by Evanescence that I really like though. It's like the verses are Bella talking, and the chorus is Edward talking. It would play out like...

It almost seems like there should be two songs for the book? One would be for Bella and the complicated feelings of Edward leaving and becoming close with Jacob. The other would be for Edward returing and everything that his return brought- hope for the two of them, and his sincere attempts at trying to make it up to her....

Oh man... So many choices.

It's all about leaving someone for their own good, even though it nearly destroys you to do it, and you don't even know if it will work, you can only hope... So Edward.

2. No Air, by Jordin Sparks (feat. Chris Brown)

How two people can't live without each other, and not for lack of trying. Really fits both Edward and Bella.

3. My Immortal, by Evanescence

This one factors in poor Jacob, and the healing that Bella is going through, even leaving Jacob for Edward again.

So I got all three main characters. I think they fit, but we shall see...

Fix You by Coldplay is better than all the rest.

The ultimate New Moon songs for me are "My Immortal" and "Going Under" by Evanescence. "My Immortal" gives me goosebumps and reminds me of Bella's life when Edward left her. "Going Under" is perfect for her dangerous actions and cliff diving.

I think Earthquake by The Used is a GREAT choice. I didn't even think of that.

I submitted Dear God by Avenged Sevenfold. I think it is absolutely perfect.

Though it would be perfect-er if Edward had taken the pictures from Bella because of the line "pictures and some memories will have to help me through."

And I think the "Dear God" thing kind of fits with Edward's religious views. (Dear God, the only thing I ask of you is to hold her when I'm not around, when I"m much too far away."

Okay, it took me a while but i think i picked my 3 songs:

I picked the song Lapse by Envy On The Coast because honestly I can't even hear any partof that song without thinking of New Moon and there are parts that just fit so well. There was no way I could resist nominating it. Sample lyric:

I think that THE SCIENTIST BY COLDPLAY IS THE PERFECT SONG!!! It fits the book as a whole, and has the right tempo for the book too!!!

I totally agree with HeidiMarie's choice of No Air by Jordin Sparks & Chris Brown. I was having trouble deciding what song to pick, but I saw No Air and I like, Oh my God! That song is PERFECT!!! So I chose it, too. In New Moon Bella literally says that being away from Edward is like not being able to breath. The whole mood of the book is kind of like this song.

I was thinking about "what hurts the most" by cascada, i know it's actually from rascal flatts but because it's from bella's point of view cascada fits better. That song is just perfect when he leaves! and she has to deal with that and th shool is just borring and she doesnt understands why that happened!

My pick is "Star-Crossed" by Scary kids Scaring Kids. It really fits the story well....

i sent in Better Than Me (hinder) go listen to it! it is THE edward song of New Moon! i also did Paramore (couldnt decide between Pressure or Thts Wat you Get) and Save You (Simple Plan...go canada!) this is fun :) love this part!

My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE is "Storm" by Lifehouse. It really captures Bella's perspective throughout the book. It embodies a terrific correlation to being in or under water and feeling like you can't make it anymore. If you happen to search for the song on Youtube, find the acoustic version! It is sung in such a heartbreaking and heartfelt way!! This is my FAVORITE for New Moon. Very, very, very good!

I chose Katy Perry's Thinking of You, which was the 'Paris' chapter song, because it touches on the role of all three characters. I also voted for Erin McCarley's Pitter Pat. This isn't a rough or edgy song, as many of our beloved Twilight inspired songs are but it is very bittersweet, which seems to be a major theme in NM. It is also a little slow and numbing, and that is how I see Bella in NM ... no matter how risky she gets, emotionally low, irrational, or heart broken over Edward leaving and Jacob changing she isn't ever completely "there." You can hear the full song on her Myspace.

I choose "Unwell" by Matchbox Twenty and "Hate Me" by Blue October. Because the first is perfect for for Bella and the second allways makes me almost cry when Justin sings: "And then she wispered How can you do this to me" I swear it ALLWAYS brings tears to my eyes

I nominated two songs by Yellowcard, Only One and Light Up the Sky, because a) I love them and b) (and slightly more relevantly) the lyrics fit perfectly.
Only One I think fits perfectly Edward's feelings for Bella and how he feels that she is so fragile, he should leave so she can find someone better for her but how she truly is his only love.
Light Up the Sky is Jacob asking Bella to give him a chance and it is doubly appropriate because he wants to Light Up the Sky for her, and she always calls him her sun. It also talks about how far she has come with a broken heart, which is her after Edward left, and even has a line "they'll just watch you die" which is very appropriate given that he views Bella changing as her dying.

i went for hate me by blue october. i thought that it really went with edwards side of the story... im suprized more people havent mentioned it.

Well, I picked one from the actual playlist that Stephenie has, and it's one of my favorites. 'Sound of Pulling Heaven Down' by Blue October. I thought that it really matched up, and that it got down to the heart of things. But that's just me.

I picked Bring Me to Life by Evanescence. There are two songs by Flyleaf that I think fit, I'm Sorry (ends with the singer saying, "I'm done healing.") and Sorrow (ends with the scream, "Joy will come!")

I picked Near to You by A Fine Frenzy, a song that has also been picked as a chapter song. Think it represents Bella's feelings for Jake in New Moon perfectly.

Comatose by Skillet will aways be my New Moon song. It fits perfectly with what Edward is going through all during the book. Awesome song, check it out if you've never heard of it.

I picked That's What You Get by Paramore. It seemed kind of like how Bella's feeling all throughout the book. Edward leaves; she's heart broken. She falls for Jacob some. And then Edward comes back, therefore making her confusion greater. So yeah, "that's what you get when you let your heart win." Lyrics seem compatable =]
