Pick The Song For Eclipse (Round 1)

As is tradition on this site, the time has come to pick the song for Eclipse!
For each chapter I have written about, I have picked a song that I think best fits the mood and scenes in that part of the book. However, as with my final reviews of Twilight and New Moon, I am letting you, the loyal readers of my site, pick the final song that you think BEST FITS WITH THE ENTIRE NOVEL as a whole.
The voting will take place in two parts: the first will be suggesting songs, for one week, and then the second will be voting from the top ten most suggested. You can nominate up to three songs per person, and can also choose songs that were already used for chapter posts — use the form below to start sending them in!

I would say that Wait For You by Elliot Yamin represents Jacob in Eclipse, Big Girls Don’t Cry represents Bella talking about Jacob, and over all I think Time is Running Out by Muse is a song for Edward.

“I’m hot, you’re cold” -Jacob and Edward.
“Walk in the room, all I can see is you” -Jacob and Edward could both say that about Bella

Hmm… tricky, tricky. I think Wait For You is a really good choice – it kinda just screams “JACOB!”. But then it’s still two songs to go… I have a week, though^^

I like all Hail the Heartbreaker or Playing for Keeps by the Spill Canvas. But I also think that Cat & Mouse by Redjumpsuit Apparatus really shows the Jacob & Bella whirlwind in this book. So does All Over You by Spill Canvas. There are so many that I love for different points in this book: Five Minutes to Midnight by Boys Like Girls for the graduation party. Cat & Mouse for Bella & Jacob right after he hears about the engagement at the Campsite. All Over You by Spill Canvas for any point that Jacob tries to stay away yet be right around Bella (this one will also work well for Breaking Dawn – Kaleb

I really think the song Clocks by Coldplay is a great choice to represent Eclipse.
A Second choice would def. have to be Time is Running Out by Muse. Its a great song to sum up Eclipse from Edward and Bella’s POV. Also Muse has had a huge influence on Stephenie and the series, so its only fitting that a Muse song should make the top ten!

i put my life would suck without you by kelly clarkson, and conspiracy by paramore. it is really hard. in my head i have a hundered songs for twilight new moon and breaking dawn, but eclipse being my least favorite in the series i have only read it once so i have like no ideas

I did 3 different ones because I couldn’t pick just one!
“The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot” by Brand New (Bella talking to Jacob)
“Luv” by Travis (Jacob talking to Bella)
“Gravity” by Sara Bareilles (Bella’s feelings about Jacob)
I know I picked all Jacob & Bella-y songs, but I feel that the changing relationship between them is very very key in this book!
I really hope at least one of those makes the final cut! Even if they don’t, you should really check those songs out, Kaleb! They are awesome and quite fitting for this book!

hmm, I’ve always found eclipse to be the hardest one to put music too, twilight and new moon are easy, so many songs about falling in love and breaking up…3-way relationships, not so easy.
here are my picks:
Rihanna – Hate That I Love You (we shall ignore the other contributor, evil SOB)
Three Days Grace – I Hate Everything About You
Muse – Time is Running Out (works for every book)
I want whatever is in that box…I don’t care, the suspense is killing me!!

I’m sure it’s been said before but I think Hot n’ Cold by Katy Perry would fit best. I mean even though Katy Perry is a little bit to “pop-ish” for Eclipse it’s still one of the best fits. The lyrics are great if you think about it. I mean not only is Jacob Hot and Edward Cold but Bella is on and off about whether she really wants to get married. And then you have Bella who is on and off about Jacob. The song just fit’s with this book in a lot of different ways.
Oh and… I like prizes=)

I was very tempted to say Hot N’ Cold by Katy Perry, but I thought it was too…superficial? I don’t know the right word. Haha
It’s just that Bella is in and out a lot in the book. She can’t make up her mind about anything. And, you know, Jacob’s hot, and Edward’s cold. Haha 
But I eventually made up my mind to submit Hysteria by Muse. That song really conveys every character really well. And gosh, do I want to see what is that box! I just about died when you said I had to wait 5 days to find out! Now it’s like, what? Three days? Still too long! I’m an impatient person

Well, I suppose I’m a bit biased when picking a song, because I’m Team Jacob, so I naturally pick one that represents Jake and Bella’s relationship in this book…
But anyway, my song is Almost Lover by A Fine Frenzy. I know that A Fine Frenzy got the song for New Moon too, but they just really represent these books to me. And that song makes me cry almost every time I hear it, because I think of that line in Eclipse when Jake and Bella kiss and she imagines their life together, with their children running and all the possibilities(page 529 hardcover). Then that makes me think of another song: My Never by Blue October. I know it hasn’t been released yet so you probably can’t choose it, but I heard it when I was at the Breaking Dawn Tour, and I just broke down.
Those two songs really symbolize a lot about how I see that relationship, and just how hard and tormenting it really is.
So yea, those are my picks. And by the way, prizes are kinda AWESOME. Just saying…

Yay! Kaleb’s almost done with Eclipse! I’m so excited for him to read Breaking Dawn, which is my favorite book in the saga (minus DHN, which pwns all the rest). I sent in my song suggestions and can’t wait to discover the epic prizes.

I chose Full Circle by Miley Cyrus (totally works for the whole 3 way relationship), Tattoo by Jordin Sparks (Bella and Jacob’s back-and-forthness), and Peace of Me by Natashe Bedingfield (I <3 Edward and Bella!).
I was really tempted to put in Nobody’s Perfect by Hannah Montana. That is sooo Bella!

I picked Toxic by Britney Spears…don’t know why I did but everytime i hear the song it reminds me of Twilight cause it’s about an addiction to a guy(and Bella is VERY addicted to both Edward and Jacob)I also chose 17 forever cause it remindes me of twilight all the time!(even the title of the song) hope u like the suggestions:)

I had to look through my Twilight Saga playlist on my iPod to find a good one. I’m thinking Hot N Cold by Katy Perry also. It was the first song that came to mind when I looked at the triangle between Bella, Edward, and Jacob. Looks like it’s turning into a popular one.

I said Hot ‘n Cold by Katy Perry. I used to be a freakin Twilight zombie. I can quote Twilight MLA format. I’m a nerd, too. =] I think the whole “Twilight Craze” and grammar, character, POV, and learning how to write changed my views on the Twilight Saga. (I hope I get flamed for this. Flames are so creative. They bring out the best in everyone.) So anyway, somebody mentioned that My song choice was “superficial”. It’s not, really. It describes the physical differences between Edward and Jacob, and the way that both Edward and Jacob pull towards and away from Bella.

WOW. This was so hard but I finally made my choices!
I went with Hysteria by Muse because I think it fits with Bella, Edward and Jacob.
Clocks by Coldplay because I feel it fits with Bella’s confusion in this book.
And the third one was hardest because I had like seven songs and could only pick one more so I went with a choice that someone else had mentioned Two Princes by Spin Doctors because I agree that it fits with Edward and Jacob both being love with Bella and her having to choose.

I think that Monsoon by Tokio Hotel would be a great song choice for Eclipse.
Lyrics:

So I only submitted two songs because I can’t make up my mind on a third. My picks:
-”Monsters” by Matchbook Romance. Edward calls himself a ‘monster’ because he is a vampire and could so easily kill Bella. Bella calls herself a ‘monster’ for putting herself, Jacob and Edward through such tremendous pain while she tries to decide who she wants to be with.
-”Gravity” by Sara Bareilles. Bella calls Jacob her sun and feels pulled to him like a planet being pulled in by a star’s gravitational force. But at the same time, she is tied to Edward by a force stronger than the ‘gravity’ that pulls her to Jacob.
If I make up my mind about a third song, I’ll submit it. In the meantime, I will puzzle my brain about what is in The Box of Awesome. :]

I chose “Bizarre Love Triangle” by New Order because amidst all the other action and events going on, that is the central core plot element of “Eclipse:” the indeed ‘bizarre’ love triangle between Bella, Jacob, and Edward. Eclipse is about making a choice between those loves and having to live with the consequences of someone getting hurt.

Wow, this is tough… I really like a lot of the suggestions so far. I searched my own playlist, but I mostly found songs that fit New Moon and Breaking Dawn, oddly enough… So I will definitely be putting in some suggestions for Breaking Dawn, when that time comes!
Anyway…
For my own suggestion, I went with “Let the Flames Begin” by Paramore, because I like that it really fits with the battle sequence at the end. (I have to be honest, I’m with you in that I love the battles even more than the romance, Kaleb!
)
And it just fits so well with the alliance between the Cullens and the werewolves against Victoria and the newborns, especially the parts like this:
“This is how we’ll dance when they try to take us down,” etc.
(And hey, it even has the “dancing” part, like in your last chapter analysis! Haha…)
Also, I noticed the second verse could really fit with how Bella wants to sacrifice her own life for her friends, even though she’s the “weak” human and can’t do much to help. It also talks about having regrets for her selfishness, which works as a reference to Bella’s situation with Jacob as well. So I think it really fits overall, especially with the latter parts of the book.

Just like many others, I found it hard to put music to Eclipse. Yes, there is a huge amount of song to fit to Twilight, New Moon, and Breaking Dawn , but Eclipse is the hard one. You would need to look at songs that are more about Bella and Jacobs relationship, rather than Bella and Edwards.
I can’t wait to see what’s in the magical box of mysterious mystery. I have no clue what it is. I’m not that good at guessing things.

I just suggested what will probably be the only french song in here- but it fits really well. That is, if Jacob let himself fall into despair. Sometimes I just can’t understand how he goes on. I really like the idea of Decode by Paramore being the song for this book. I know that it was on the Twilight soundtrack, so I hope that doesn’t void it out. But there are parts like, “you can’t decode my thoughts” that apply to Edward and Bella. Also the song is questioning how they got to the place they are at b/c they thought they knew each other. This is sort of like Bella and Jacob, b/c she never saw the relationship escalating to where it is, etc.
Idk. I love that song.

I entered Shadow of the Day by Linkin Park. The underlying “theme” of the book is everything that Bella will be giving up when she becomes a vampire. I think this song really shows the sorrow that Edawrd feels when he thinks about this being the twilight of Bella’s life. She’s giving up her friends, her family and the future he thinks she should have.

I was really happy to see Gravity by Sara Bareilles already recommended! That’s one I definitely agree with.
Another is Dig by Incubus. To me, the whole thing with Eclipse is the fight between the two versions of Bella. Remember the magnets? It takes her the whole book to figure out the animosity between vampire and werewolf is not the problem, but the war she is fighting within herself. The war of self is a predominant theme of Dig, in my opinion.
My third is Volcano by Damien Rice. I think it describes the type of relationships this book has perfectly.

So, I literally went through all of the idea so far, listening and reading lyrics.
I really wanted my votes to represent the entire book, or a major theme that was carried throughout – less about each character. It seems silly to pick songs that center around only BxE or BxJ … that is rather incomplete.

Ok I know this is crazy cause it’s country but i just heard it today and all i could think about was Jacob and Edward and Bella. They both feel the same about her, she’s all they want. Kinda like their brand of heroin but it’s “She’s My Kind of Rain” Tim McGraw. Crazy I know but so, i don’t know, heartfelt? What’s the word I’m looking for. Anyway, here’s just a few lines scattered here and there…

There’s a new band called “The Becoming” with a song I think fits the book. It’s called “Under the Full Eclipse,” and I feel both the lyrics and the overall style fit the mood perfectly. Here be the lyrics:
