Holy CRAP. How can you tell that the wolves are not as big as explained in the book? i dont see anything in the backround to compare him to and the camera angle certainly does Not help him look big. Just wait 'till the damn movie comes out for christ's sake.

The way the books described the wolves to look, you would have thought they would have been bigger, and a little bit more scary.

I thought the exact same thing, that the wolf should have been bigger. It's possible that in this teaser scene we are just unable to see the real size. He is too far from Bella to judge how much larger he is as a wolf than she is. We'll see.
